• Thanks to a generous donation from Mr. Elliot Bottom, Mt. Carmel-Holy Rosary School now has its own dance studio!

• The dedication ceremony of the “Texas Dance Studio” generated some attention from local media.  The school was featured on Fox 5 News, on WCBS 880, and was featured in a full-page article in the Daily News.  Check out the coverage!

• Thanks to the Junior Committee of the Inner-City Scholarship Fund, our students have attended a number of field trips this year: NY Aquarium in Coney Island, the Museum of Moving Images in Astoria, Whole Foods Market Bowery, Carnegie Hall, and the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus trip at Madison Square Garden.

• Every student at MCHR received a Christmas present

• Thanks to the generosity of a generous donor the entire school went on a field trip to the Big Apple Circus!

• The 8th grade class is currently participating in the “Meet the Met” program in which a museum educator visits the class three times, followed by three follow-up tours of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

• Our Violin Ensemble, led by Ms. Sharon Kim, performed at the Russian Tea Room on November 8, 2007 and recorded for Sirius Satellite Radio in January 2008.
